1) When is Sivaji is going to release?
Shankar is working round the clock (really) in post-production to finish the computer graphics for the film. Since the graphics dominate many scenes and major parts of the songs it is consuming time above from the stipulated one. The CG has been now outsourced to few other animation giants in the city. And many graphic animators are working for the boss.
Shankar too don’t want to miss this holiday season though 30% of the holidays are already over. The unit aims to release the film by 17th. Though the graphic would have been finished by May first week - what troubling is ‘film processing’ - It is expected that it will eat much days. Now talks are being held with major labs in Mumbai too.
AVM has assured to its distributors and theatre owners that they are particular to release the film by May 17th. If things don’t work out within that time - the release may further pushed to another week. That’s it. Not more that. So, u can expect the boss surely by 17th this month or after a few days from 17th.
2) How is audio doing?
Sivaji Audio is a bumper hit and many audio shops in the city and state witnessed a thunderous sales after a long time. DVD player sales too shot up after Sivaji release. (A shop owner told me)
Another leap in audio sales is expected once the movie hits the screens. Rahman has retained his Numero 1 position again with this. Industry circles quote that he has used the opportunity well to re-establish himself.
3) Is there any rift between AVM and Shankar?
Yes. Some industry sources say that Shankar is testing the patience of AVM very much with his `perfect-so-perfect’attitude. They feel that they missed the golden opportunity of Summer release. But open clash is averted since the film involves Superstar. Due to his presence, they are maintaining themselves tongue tied. Otherwise things would turn otherway. (But it may change once the movie releases.)
4) What is Superstar doing now?
Superstar is in a restless state now and he is eagerly anticipating the release like all of us. (For his it is first copy).
Thalaivar is not intervening in Shankar’s work or nagging him to finish the movie. He feels that every minute and seconds Shanakr spending for the movie is worth. And moreover he feels that – Namma Valeiya correcta mudhichittom. Ini Shankaraachu, Saravanan saar aachu. May be he is in footsteps of Himalays by the time u read this message.

SIVAJI STORY
Sivaji is a grand movie that is directed by Shankar who is known for making big budget films under AVM productions. Sivaji has super star RajiniKanth in the lead role. Shivaji is getting form with the mega trio combination of director Shankar, SuperStar RajiniKanth and AVM productions. Music is scored by A R Rahman and Lyrics is penned by Vairamuthu.
Sivaji is AVM production’s 168th venture. For Superstar RajiniKanth, Sivaji is his 9th movie with AVM productions and for director Shankar this is his 9th movie in his directional career and first movie with AVM productions. A twist of fate is that Superstar’s Rajinikanth’s lucky number is nine and superstar has said to Shankar that this movie would bring great success for both of them.
This movie bears the title Sivaji after the name of the legend of Tamil cinema Shivaji Ganesan who started his career in Tamil cinema through the movie Parasakthi which was AVM productions. And another happenstance is that Superstar’s real name is Sivaji Rao. This film is being made under the budget of Rs. 50 crore. It is said that when RajiniKanth asked to write a script for him the director has explained the story in a single sentence which has impressed Superstar to sign up for the project.
This movie has lot of crowd pulling stars like Vivek, PrakashRaj, Raghuvaran who play lead roles in the movie. Actress Shriya is playing the female lead role. Initially Aishwarya Rai, Ayesha Takia and Rani Mukherjee were proposed for the female lead role but Shreiya has bagged the opportunity. Actress Sandya will be giving voice to Shriya. Nayantara is doing a item number song in this movie.
RajiniKanth (Sivaji) is a great businessman. He is The Boss of the company since he owns it. Suman is his manager plays a double role against RajiniKanth and ruins his business and makes Sivaji go to jail for the mistake that he has not performed. Rajini with the help of Vivek and Shriya hires a good criminal lawyer and comes out of jail in bail.
The role of the criminal lawyer is played by Raghuvaran. Rajini comes out of jail and takes revenge on people who were responsible for all of his sufferings. Rajini learns more about life when he is in jail and so after his release he does a lot of charity work to people who are in need. In the end with Raghuvaran helps him to regain all his lost property and Rajini becomes the boss again.
This movie will be dubbed in Telugu . The Telugu right is handed over to the producer Bellam Konda Suresh for 14 crores. This does not include Audio and satellite rights. Rajini has sung a song in this movie which is his second attempt of playback singing.
Mohan Lal, Amitabh Bachchan, Nana Patekar and even Sathyaraj were proposed to take the negative role. But Suman has bagged the opportunity. Art direction was done by Thotta Tharani, Stunts were handled by Peter Haynes, costume designing by Manish Malhotra and dialogues by Sujatha.
